Our Physiotherapists are trained professionals who are able to assess and diagnose your condition, and administer a treatment program to restore function to the highest possible level. Using a combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, education, advice, and soft tissue techniques, our physiotherapists strive to enhance health and maximise potential.
Treatment techniques used:
Massage
Massage can accelerate the body’s healing and recovery process. It can relax tight or stressed out muscles. Deep tissue releases are used to lengthen overactive muscles that are creating excessive stresses on your joints leading to pain.
Joint mobilisations / manipulations
Joints are the moving links in your skeletal structure. They are meant to move freely. If they are restricted they will become irritated and cause pain. Your spine is made up of lots of moving parts like the links in a bicycle chain. If your spine has a stiff link it will cause dysfunction leading to a pain. A thorough assessment will pinpoint the right level, or link, of your spine that is restricted. Joint mobilisations are specific techniques that gently move and stretch the stiff joints. Gentle manipulation of a stiff joint can also be used to get your joints moving again.
Effective stretches
Tight stiff muscles need to be targeted by specific stretches to be effective. At Moreton All Body Care you will receive the right stretches to help you recover fast.
Specific rehabilitative exercise
A thorough assessment will help decide the specific exercise programme that will help you to get better.
Dry Needling / Western Acupuncture
Dry Needling involves needling to altered or dysfunctional tissues in order to improve or restore function. This may include needling of myofascial trigger points and periosteum.
Western acupuncture utilises meridian points but applies it to ‘western’ reasoning with particular consideration to relevant neurophysiology and anatomy. Points are stimulated to create local, spinal segmental or supraspinal pain modulating effects.
Clinical Pilates
Pilates is a unique form of exercise that concentrates on strength, stability and flexibility. Moreton All Body Care uses specialised equipment which uses spring resistance against whole body movement. Exercises are progressed on the machines to incorporate positions utilising an unstable base leading to greater core body stability.
Clinical Pilates is for people who have had spine or joint problems and want to improve their muscle stability leading to less pain and improved function. It is also beneficial for those who would like to undertake a low impact exercise program for general joint maintenance, health and wellbeing.
At Moreton All Body Care a physiotherapist will design and supervise your Clinical Pilates programme. This entails that your programme is specific to your problem and more importantly ensures your safety while exercising.
Post surgery rehabilitation
We are able to provide patients with post-operative care following discharge from hospital either in rooms or at home (if required).
